It is estimated that only 1 in 10 cases is ever reported. Kentucky Adult Protective Services investigates about 7,700 cases a year. About 1 out of 4 cases is substantiated.

If you know someone experiencing elder financial abuse in Kentucky, you have a duty to report it. KRS 209.030 requires any person who has a reasonable suspicion that an adult has been abused, neglected or exploited to report verbally or in writing.
