Amy E. Dougherty has been with Bluegrass Elderlaw, PLLC since 2012. Amy focuses her practice on assisting older persons in qualifying for Medicaid long term care using Wills, Powers-of-Attorney, Advanced, Directives, and Trusts. She also advocates for clients before Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid agencies and defends against involuntary dismissal from long term care facilities.

Amy is well-known in the Elder Law field and is a frequent presenter at seminars.

Mary Ellis Patton joined Bluegrass Elderlaw, PLLC as an associate in 2014; she joined the firm as a member in 2020. She is licensed to practice law in both Kentucky and Ohio. Mary enjoys getting to know her clients on a personal level and constructing customized plans to enable clients to achieve their financial, legal, and health care goals.

Mary has co-authored several legal treatises on Elder Law topics. She also has served as Chair of the KBA Elder Law Section.

Katie E. Finnell began working as an associate at Bluegrass Elderlaw, PLLC in January 2017 . She joined the firm as a member in 2020. Before her time at Bluegrass Elderlaw, she spent several years as a sole practitioner where she focused on estate planning, elder law, and business law.

Katie volunteers in community serving on non-profit boards and committees. She is also a frequent speaker on Elder Law and Estate Planning topics.

McKenna is an Associate Attorney at Bluegrass Elderlaw, PLLC in Lexington, Kentucky, where she focuses on elder law and estate planning. She earned her JD from the University of Dayton School of Law, completing an accelerated program. McKenna previously worked in real estate law and served as a teaching assistant in legal ethics.

Andrea currently serves as an associate attorney at our office. She received her J.D. from Capital University Law School in 2025 and her Bachelor degree from the University of Kentucky. She was admitted to the Kentucky bar in 2025. Andrea previously clerked for law firms in Columbus, Ohio.

Bailey received her J.D. from Ohio Northern University Pettit College of Law in 2025. She received her Bachelor’s degree from Eastern Kentucky University. She has previously clerked at law firms in Richmond and Stanford, Kentucky.

CAROLYN “COOP” MCCOWN

Medicaid Paralegal

Coop joined Bluegrass Elderlaw as a Medicaid Assistant in 2018, where she handles the Medicaid application process for our clients. Prior to joining the firm, she worked for Fayette County Public Schools and The American Red Cross. Before relocating to Lexington, KY in 2003, she resided in Washington, D.C. where she worked for several law firms.

Coop is originally from New York City. She enjoys reading and spending quality time with her husband.

In 2025, she welcomed the 2nd Great-Grandson and went on a Girl’s Trip (11 ladies in total) to New York City, where they had a fabulous time.

ANNIE CAUDILL

Paralegal

Annie joined Bluegrass Elderlaw in 2019 as an administrative assistant. Annie is originally from Cincinnati, Ohio. She graduated from the University of Kentucky in 2017. She now resides in Georgetown. Annie enjoys reading and spending time with her husband, family, and dogs.






TAMI COLLINS

Paralegal

Tami joined Bluegrass Elderlaw in 2025 as a legal assistant. She is originally from upstate New York but proudly calls Kentucky home.

Tami has a rich background working in everything from the horse industry to theater to education to law firms. She enjoys spending time with friends and family, especially her daughter, cooking and travelling.

CHRISTINA EASTHAM

Paralegal

Christina Eastham is originally from Richmond, Kentucky, and grew up in Somerset. She joined Bluegrass Elderlaw in 2025 and brings 25 years of experience with a strong focus on estate planning and probate. Christina earned her Bachelor of Science in Paralegal Studies from Sullivan University in 2001. She currently resides in Georgetown, where she enjoys reading and spending time with her husband, son, and cat.


ANGELA REHORN

Office Manager

Angela joined the Bluegrass Elderlaw team in 2021 as a friend and colleague. She has lived in Lexington most of her life, spending over 25 years in the arts community as an educator and encourager of artists young and old. She brings attention to day-to-day details and organizes the business side of the firm. She enjoys traveling, gardening, and spending time with family and friends.

TRACY MCINTOSH

Paralegal

Tracy joined Bluegrass Elderlaw in 2022. Originally from Lexington, she grew up in Somerset and graduated from UK. Her varied background includes media relations, publications, and teaching. In her free time, Tracy enjoys spending time with her husband and daughters, reading, being a deacon at her church, her book club, and DAR.

MICHAELA ESTES

Fiduciary Services Elder Care Coordinator

Michaela joined the Bluegrass Elderlaw team in 2022 as a Fiduciary Services and Medicaid Legal Assistant. She graduated from Eastern Kentucky University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in 2015 with a focus in Painting and Printmaking. During her free time, Michaela loves drawing and painting, spending time with friends and family, and being the best cat mom to her four boys.

FRANKIE STIVERS

Legal Assistant & Receptionist

Frankie joined Bluegrass Elderlaw as the receptionist in May 2023. She currently handles scheduling and preparing new files for clients. She also handles special projects. Before joining Bluegrass Elderlaw, she worked for a law firm handling the Medicaid process for 13 years. Frankie enjoys spending time with her husband, kids, and grandsons.

GWYN SPROULL

Legal Assistant & Receptionist

Gwyn joined the Bluegrass Elderlaw team in 2024. She grew up in Lexington and has a B.S. in Paralegal Studies. Prior to joining the firm, she worked in her church as a bereavement minister, assisting people through the funeral process. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family and gardening.

Gwyn works with our Medicaid clients and assists with answering our phones.

MARIA JUETT

Fiduciary Services Associate Coordinator

Maria joined the team at Bluegrass Elderlaw team in 2025. She grew up in Georgetown and has a B.S.in accounting from Eastern Kentucky University.

Maria loves animals and volunteers for animal rescue organizations. She frequently fosters dogs and cats.

Receptionist

Kate serves as the Receptionist at Bluegrass Elderlaw, PLLC, where she plays a vital role in welcoming clients and keeping the office running smoothly. Since joining the team in 2025, Kate has been responsible for scheduling appointments and preparing new client files, ensuring every interaction begins with clarity and care. Her attention to detail and warm demeanor make her a trusted first point of contact for our clients.
